Responsibilities:

  • Designing and delivering lessons to prepare students for higher education, focusing on language proficiency and academic skills.
  • Adaptable to the diverse needs of students and maintaining a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Handling administrative tasks related to teaching, such as maintaining records, preparing materials, and attending meetings.
  • Providing language instruction, often in German and English, ensures students meet the language requirements for their intended studies.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, administrators, and other stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the preparatory programme.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to stay updated on teaching methodologies, language requirements, and cultural aspects.
  • Offering individual support to students, addressing their academic needs, and helping them overcome challenges.
  • Facilitating cultural integration, helping students adapt to German university life’s academic and social aspects.
  • Providing academic and career guidance to students, assisting them in making informed decisions about their educational paths.

We wish from you:

  • A relevant academic degree in the field related to the preparatory course content.
  • Proficiency in the language of instruction, which may include German and English, and demonstrated language proficiency through certification like TestDaf or an equivalent can be required.
  • A teaching certificate, teaching diploma, or equivalent qualification. This ensures the candidate has the necessary pedagogical skills to deliver educational content effectively.
  • Compliance with my legal requirements for employment in Germany, such as work permits or residency status.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and tools for teaching and communication.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for effectively conveying information and supporting students.
  • Prior teaching experience is often preferred, especially in preparatory or language courses. Experience in adapting teaching methods to diverse student needs is valuable.
  • Understanding and appreciating cultural differences, mainly those relevant to the student body, is essential for fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with teaching methodologies and educational records.
